    D Tar Solstice Manual

5 5 I have been playing acoustic guitar in and out of bands for 40 plus years. Some were small clubs and some large venues. I've always had problems with getting a true acoustic electric sound out of my beautiful sounding 90s Guild D-52. In the old days a mic was all you could use and the second you add a monitor to the mix it's over.

The best sound I ever did get was using a feedback buster, a Martin Thinline under saddle pickup and the Fishman Aura. The big one that you can customize, that's ver. 185.00 DjangoBooks.com https://www.djangobooks.com/Item/d-tar-multi-source-steel. Never content to rest on ours laurels, we continue to introduce innovative amplification products for serious acoustic musicians.

The new Multi-Source™ combines the popular Wave-Length™ pickup system with a condenser microphone for versatility, flexibility and, of course, the most natural sound possible from your acoustic guitar. The Multi-Source starts with the Wave-Length unitary design, piezoelectric co-polymer under-saddlepickup coupled to an 18-volt, low-noise, high-input impedance preamp with twice the dynamic range of typical 9-volt systems. The 18-volt preamp is powered by two “AA” batteries. With 18 volts, your signal has more headroom so hard strumming or plucking won’t distort into piezo “quack” as easily. With the addition of the highly-efficient miniature, omni-directional electret condenser microphone, you can amplify your acoustic guitar with startling clarity and accuracy.

The mic is nestled in a special absorptive visco-elastic polymer shock mount for optimal isolation. Two low-profile knobs allow for master volume and microphone volume. Dial the microphone in to add just the right amount of “air”; dial it out to control feedback, if necessary. Speaking of feedback, the microphone channel has two stages of low frequency roll-off to combat any tendency towards low frequency feedback. Also, full coverage copper shielding on the pickup insures immunity to external noise fields.

I was using that on stage through a Bose L1 classic and it was terrific.

Very close to a true acoustic sound. The problem was that if you sat in anywhere or did an open mic it was too much to lug around. It is pretty heavy, you needed two cables and it had to be plugged into the ac. No busy sound man wants to deal with that. They want you to be plug and play ready. I purchased the D-tar dual system and used it last night in a pretty large venue. I was blown away.

What a nice sounding rig and in spite of the internal mic being turned up and a 15 inch wedge monitor 5 feet from me and NO feedback buster it worked like a charm. As you well know nothing sounds better than a good mic in front of an acoustic but if you need an electrified sound at a decent price I would really recommend this set up. Everybody has a different sound they want to hear but this worked for me. Another big plus is that Django is a great company.

They were right there with customer service on a question I had and the shipping was fast with no problems. Just a great transaction all around. Mike HeaphySubmitted by: Mike on 07:01:16 AM.
